A poem by Remontz to my Grandmother
written for Mother’s Day 2019
Super Hero
When I was growing up I idolized Super Heroes;
I would watch and emulate the episodes I’d seen.
But Someone showed me not all heroes were make believe.
When I was growing up I idolized Super Heroes;
They had ice, fire and even acid breath to fight foes.
But Someone showed me a calming voice could end woes.
When I was growing up I idolized Super Heroes;
They had utility belts and gadgets to recover lost treasures.
But Someone showed me a ruler could even all measures.
When I was growing up I idolized Super Heroes;
They had super strength and speed to stop crime.
But Someone showed me a caring heart is always on time.
When I was growing up I idolized Super Heroes;
They were extraordinary…but not all my heroes wear capes.
A superhero doesn’t even come close to Stein the Great!
Happy Mother’s Day Grandma!
